- Cold water services
- Room cooling and data hall cooling from CRAC units positioned within the data hall
- Building Management System (BMS)
- Gas suppression extract
This project was to build a new data centre facility which consisted of two Data Halls, 1 and 2, with open plan office spaces on the first and second floors.
The main Condenser Units were located within two plant compounds to the rear of the building, adjacent to the car park, these compounds also housed the two standby generators.
Heat Recovery Units were installed throughout the ceiling voids on the floor plates to provide full fresh air ventilation, via low velocity ductwork, to the inlet of the VRF Units.
The Data Halls are fitted with Downflow Close Control CRAC units. Each of these indoor units is matched to an external Dry Air Cooler through the raised floor which acts as a plenum bringing the conditioned air up through grilles into the cold aisles. The hot aisle air is then recirculated through the CRAC units and mixed with free cooling tempered air as required.
Full Integrated System Testing of the M&E services was carried out with a Heat Load Test within the main data hall and fail scenarios generated with a full cause and effect to ensure all life safety and emergency backup systems functioned correctly.
