Our in-house Design Department offers a unique turn-key solution to all of your design requirements.

With extensive experience in all stages of design, from reviewing a developers brief to finalising a Stage 4 scheme, our engineers will support your project from estimating through to completion providing tailored technical, practical solutions for our site teams to install, and our customers to maintain.

Through partnering with our trusted Supply Chain we can provide bespoke project solutions to include all aspects of mechanical and electrical engineering such as heating and cooling, ventilation, fire safety, drainage, lighting, cable and containment, power distribution, small power, fire and security and beyond.

This results in a design that is commercially aware, practical to install and considered in every way.

DBS have adopted the latest software packages including Revit and MagiCAD meaning we can deliver our schemes effectively and efficiently, whilst also meeting the project BIM deliverables.

Having delivered projects using 3D in line with the project BIM Execution Plan for many years, DBS are at the forefront of the M&E sector when it comes to 3D modelling and BIM.

We have a collaborative approach to our designs and work in a 3D environment allowing us to provide seamless solutions that compliment the fabric of a building.

Working inline with our BSI ISO 19650 certification our Design and Revit Engineers use BIM within our workflows and are committed to producing information in line with the requirements of the BIM Execution Plan.

We understand the importance of information exchange and the sustained benefits that are produced though this including co-ordination, precise installations and a considered maintenance strategy.

Our Sustainability Team will undertake dynamic simulations in order to ensure the thermal comfort of a building. Through comprehensive review of the required building performance criteria we will provide a sustainable solution by selecting the appropriate renewable technology.

By utilising thermal modelling in IES we can ensure our designs are energy efficient and meet Part L requirements, while at the same time delivering on the project sustainability expectations as directed by the BREEAM criteria.

It is vital that we play our part in helping to reduce carbon emissions while at the same time understanding and facilitating the buildings long term maintenance requirements.

Our Design Department have over 500 years of experience enabling us to provide a solution to any project. We are passionate about training supporting our engineers through personal and professional development encouraging them to challenge traditional methods and utilise new and advancing technologies.
