- Installation of 3nr new free cooling AC units in the switchroom
- New DX AC units to new battery room including refrigeration pipework
- Supply and extract ventilation to new UPS room
- Leak detection systems and gas extract ventilation
- BMS systems
The project involved the construction of a new switch room built within an existing data centre building. DBS constructed all of the new fire rated plasterboard walls, ceilings and a raised access floor.
Within the new switch room DBS installed new cooling units, gas suppression systems, mechanical services wiring, fire alarms, gas extract ventilation and cable containment systems for the clients data systems.
The new switch room was electrically supported by the construction of a separate UPS and battery room which housed 4 new 200kVA UPS units, new input and output switch panels, supply and extract ventilation systems, battery stands complete with batteries and DX cooling units.
DBS undertook the role of Principal Contractor to manage the whole construction process on the site, including responsibility for all H&S issues.
The project was notifiable to the HSE under an F10 form.
