Research & Development Facilities

Harwell Panther

A new 25,000 square foot building to facilitate the research and development for industrial diamond products.

DBS were employed to undertake the supply and installation of the Mechanical and Electrical Services to Phase 2 of a new office and laboratory development at Plot 9, Harwell, Oxford.

The 25,000 square foot building is a research and development facility for industrial diamond products. Phase 2 is a multi-use building housing a range of offices, laboratories, clean rooms and test facilities. It is linked to the Phase 1 building with a new two storey entrance and reception area.

The design incorporated exposed services meaning that maximum co-ordination between trades was vital to ensure the installation looked well-ordered, especially within the ground floor R&D facility which required a high volume of services to each area.

The Plant Room was located on the mezzanine level above the 2nd floor requiring plant to be craned into position in a co-ordinated manner due to the constrictions of the building.
