Charnwood Lighthouse Lab
The strip out, refurbishment, and installation of MEP services to facilitate a Lighthouse COVID-19 laboratory testing facility.
This project saw DBS return to the 3M Charnwood Campus in Loughborough.
DBS operated as Principal Contractor to complete the strip out, building refurbishment works, and installation of MEP services to the former Astra Zeneca Building 21 in order to facilitate a Lighthouse COVID-19 laboratory testing facility.
The laboratories were developed for the Department of Health and Social Care and are to be tenanted by the US pharmaceutical firm Perkin Elmer.
The laboratory, under Phase 1, will have the capacity to undertake 50,000 Coronavirus tests per day with Phase 3 increasing the capacity up to 90,000 tests per day.
