ZF Shirley 2025 is a new build scheme developed by ZF Global on the Blythe Valley Solihull Business Park with the intention of re-locating all existing ZF employees from their existing premises in Shirley Health. The project consists of an Office Building, Technical R&D Building and Link Building.
DBS have partnered with SDC as the Main Contractor, and Arcadis who act as the Clients Project Management Team, both on cost consultancy and design to deliver the scheme.
The Office is a concrete poured frame with double and full height atriums for the entrance and restaurant respectively, as well as four floors of general office spaces. The Technical R&D Building is a steel frame structure over two floors both being double height spaces with exposed services and a series of internal high level cranes. Both buildings are inter-linked by the Link Building in order to bring the departments together within a breakout and café zone.
Due to the processes within the Technical Building DBS are installing a multitude of different MEP systems with extensive Ventilation, VRF Heating and Cooling, Compressed Air, Process Cooling, De-Ionised Water, Fire Alarm, LV Sub Mains, CCTV, Security and PV being some examples of the systems.
The project was secured following a single stage tender process with the form of contract being the JCT Management Works Contract Agreement and Conditions.
