Harris Academy Wimbledon

Set over 5 floors the school  comprises of science labs, food technology rooms, general teaching rooms, a hall and a catering kitchen, sports hall and floodlit MUGA pitch.

This project was carried out for the Harris Academy Federation under the Education & Skills Funding Agency framework. The school opened in November 2020 for the first three year groups, with planned year on year occupation growth until the academy serves children aged 11-18.

Set over 5 floors, the secondary school can accommodate 1,150 pupils and comprises of science labs, food technology rooms, general teaching rooms, a hall and a catering kitchen, sports hall and floodlit MUGA pitch.

A large atrium and dining space form the centre-piece of the school.

The project included efficient building services systems such as an LED lighting scheme, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery and an extensive PV array on the roof. The building also has a comprehensive energy management and monitoring system.

The project achieved a 30% betterment over Building Regulations requirements for target CO2 emissions, achieving an EPC ‘A’ rating and BREEAM Very Good.
