The building consists of basement, ground floor, nine upper storeys and a roof top plant space.
The building is being constructed to full Category A shell standards to meet the specific needs of the future building end user, HMRC. The Mechanical and Electrical Services are being delivered in accordance with the Couch Perry Wilkes outline proposals with detailed MEP design being undertaken by DBS.
The lower ground and basement areas provide car parking, cycle lockers and showering facilities with central plant space. The main reception, located at ground floor level, is surrounded by back of house areas including security and post rooms. Levels 1 to 9 provide open plan office facilities and a central core comprising lifts and toilet accommodation, with level 10 being used for plant space and building infrastructure.
The project is a new build construction including earthworks, retaining structures, demolition and site clearance, land remediation, dealing with contaminated material, utility diversions/management, primary utility infrastructure installation, public realm, highway improvements and landscaping.
Once complete Unity Square will become HMRC’s 13th Regional Hub housing 4,000 employees.
